Charlotte Choo
Specialist Occupational Therapist (Neurodevelopmental)
Charlotte is a fully registered occupational therapist with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore (Registration No.: A1301584I). Charlotte has extensive experience working in a variety of clinical settings since 2012. Her professional journey spans across acute hospitals, community-based care, and programmes planning for individuals with physical, intellectual, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Having started her journey at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Charlotte is proficient in providing therapy across outpatient hands, orthopaedics, geriatrics, and general medicine. Her commitment to community-based care is reinforced by her time in SPD, where she spent six years working closely with clients with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Charlotte was instrumental in developing the Day Activity Centre for clients with ASD and re-designing Day Activity Centre programmes for clients with disabilities to better serve their needs.
Charlotte is passionate about advocating and creating a more inclusive environment to assimilate persons with disabilities. She has collaborated with corporate and community partners to create inclusive opportunities, enabling clients to engage with mainstream resources and public facilities.
Passionate about sharing her knowledge to advocate for children, families and individuals with additional needs, Charlotte is active in conducting external outreach and talks on a wide variety of topics such as sensory processing difficulties, child development, disability awareness, wheelchair accessibility/handling for persons with disabilities.
Charlotte is also a certified clinical educator with SIT (Singapore Institute of Technology) and conducted in-service training for the occupational therapy departments in SGH and SPD. Committed to nurturing the next generation of allied health professionals, Charlotte has also provided clinical supervision for Nanyang Polytechnic OT students and conditionally registered occupational therapists.
Charlotte works closely with families, caregivers, and community partners to provide quality care for clients. Her professionalism is grounded in providing holistic, client-centered interventions while fostering inclusive environments where persons with disabilities can thrive.
In her free time, Charlotte enjoys activities such as travelling, boxing, yoga and diving.
